A Space & Place to Flourish
Recently, I visited a thriving botanical garden nearby. I have been wanting to visit this popular attraction for the longest and I finally made it an afternoon mini-day-trip. As a person who thrives on being outdoors, I could not wait for this opportunity. I visited the greenhouse first and then proceeded to take a casual stroll through-out the gardens.
As I entered the greenhouse, I was so amazed at the array of plants and flowers there. The vibrancy of all of the plants and flowers were absolutely captivating and the colors that filled the rooms from corner to corner were astounding. I stood in the middle of one of the rooms and took a selfie. I was definitely going to capture this moment.
As I stood there, all I could think about was the environment that kept these beautiful flowers flourishing. The proper amount of sun, air, water, the peace and the quiet were all contributing factors. Everything those flowers needed to thrive were contained right there in that greenhouse. Isn’t that amazing? What a revelation!!! Just imagined what it would be like be in an environment where all you needed to flourish surrounds you. My thoughts went directly to our circles of influence and the impact of our immediate surroundings.
When I lived in Europe, I enjoyed visiting the famous Kuekenhof gardens in Holland which is situated in the Netherlands. Oh my goodness! The beautiful endless colorful landscapes and pavilion of tulips and flowers, the green plush grass, vivid green trees, the calm flowing rivers and the luminous sun beaming through trees everywhere! Truly a place of vibrancy, thriving, growth and multiplication.
A place to flourish is everything! What ideal environment support your means of flourishing in your gifts, talents, dreams and goals? Are you surrounded by inspiration and empowerment? There is something phenomenal about being in the midst of positivity which inspires and empowers you to flourish. Vibrant colors, positive and engaging books, journals, scripture, inspirational quotes hanging on my wall or framed on my desk, tuning-in to a transformational podcast, radio show, or video, the company of positive friends and family who are in my circle of influence are just a few of those threads, to name a few, woven and intertwined to make my tapestry of a place to flourish.
