A Moment Of Reverence
"My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. Psalms 62: 5
A SURE CONFIDENCE
Written by Carmela E. Head
Have you ever had to get somewhere in a hurry and all of a sudden you find yourself at, what seems to be, the longest stoplight around? It seems like your destination will take forever to get there. Everything seems to be going in slow motion and there is an unnerving happening inside; all the while, you ask yourself every question under the sun, "What if I am late?" "Am I ever going to get there?" "This is taking way too long!" The "what-ifs" and every scenario of what you could imagine begin to circulate through your thoughts. Then all of a sudden, you realize, after taking in a few deep breaths and realizing that the almighty traffic is out of your control, you take a moment to relax, bring in some calm, and do some reflecting.
Isn't that how it is oftentimes when we are waiting to see results and for what we most earnestly desire to hurry up and show up? I love how David, the psalmist, wrote in the scripture above that, he waited silently for the Lord to move on his behalf because his expectation, [his hope, his anticipation] was in Him. I love how David concludes chapter 62 in verse 11. He says, "One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard, "Power belongs to you, God"
Isn't that awesome! There is a peace and sure confidence there when we move in expectation for God to move on our behalf. It may seem like we are racing against the clock just like being stuck in traffic with no movement in sight. We can find that moment of solitude, seek God, lean into the confidence of knowing that our expectation is in Him.
Father God, help me to wait in expectation for you to move on my behalf when I feel hurried. Thank you for your peace that fills my heart, a peace that gives me a hope, and a rich confidence that comes from you. Amen and Amen.

A Moment Of Reverence
“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” Psalms 145:18
HE IS HERE!
Written by Carmela E. Head
Today, with lifted hands and adoration to the Lord, welcome Him into your day, your moment and into your circumstance. The scripture says, that in His presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures evermore. Stand in awe in the moment and know that God is there. Say His name, sing His name, shout His name, and pray His name. Speak of His majestic name and His glory will come. He is here!
One thing I have come to know is that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Be free and know!
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Psalm 24:9
Father God, I surrender to you today. I know that all I have to do is call upon your name and you will show me great and mighty things that I don't even know. Enlighten my way today that I may see You. My desire is to see You in all that I do. Thank you for being here with me today. Amen and Amen.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17 ESV
THE GREATEST!
Written by Carmela E. Head
Giving, an attitude of gratitude, checking in on a friend in need, sharing your gifts, talents, skills and abilities with others, praying for someone, serving others and even lending a helping hand are some of the greatest expressions of love. Not only does it benefit others, it enlightens our hearts as well.
As I candidly remember the greatest of times when I felt the most gratification, it was when I was taking the time to open my heart to share kindness with others or when was on the receiving end of someone else's benevolence. God is always in the midst of the expression of love because He is Love Himself. Be encouraged to give the greatest of gifts. Love. It's the most valuable gift one can give.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
Gracious Lord, I honor you. Thank you for giving me the gift of love. Open my heart to give freely as well as receive the greatest gift. Help me to see and seize opportunities to enlighten someone's day and know that your loving presence is with me enlightening my way. Thank you for leading me so that I am abiding in faith, hope and the greatest of these two, love. Amen and Amen.

HE HAS IT!
Written by Carmela E. Head
Take a moment to thank the Lord in advance today that He is able to fill your heart with His love, His peace, His strength and His grace. Everything we long for, God has it! His touch is never out of reach.
We have access through prayer. We may experience days that are not easy but God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly, above all we can ask or think, according to the power that is working within us. May your day be filled the expectation of great things.
My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from HIM.
Psalm 62:5
Heavenly Father, I recognize that you are omnipotent and that your touch is never out of reach. Help me to rely fully on you today knowing that all I need to do is ask and with thanksgiving, seek you today for peace, provision and understanding. Amen and Amen.

KEEP MOVING
Written by Carmela E. Head
There have been numerous times when I felt like I couldn’t put my finger on it: It seemed like my momentum was slipping. I felt like I was standing in one place, marking time. Will I ever fully manifest what God has placed in me?
Then, I am reminded that God is working within the scheme of it all and although I may feel as if I cannot not trace Him, He is and has always has been there all along, my friend, leading me along the way. So, I will keep moving. I will bear a harvest of fruit in my due season.
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
(Philippians 1:6)
Almighty Father, help me to see that you working in and through me to accomplish your will. Although I may feel as if I am not moving forward, Lord, I will take hold of knowing that I will manifest what you have placed in me to do because of the assurance of your word working within me. I will bear fruit, I will press forward toward the mark of the high calling of Christ and I will look to You, because that’s where my help comes from. Work in me Lord. Amen and Amen.

Our Strong Tower!
Written by Carmela E. Head
When I think about protection from a storm, I think about a strong building or structure that is fortified. There’s a sense of security and comfort in knowing that it will hold up with the boisterous winds and harsh rain.
There is a confidence in knowing that a strong tower protects us. So is God who is with us. He is our refuge and strength; a very present help in times of when we encounter distress. With confidence, today, I press my way to lean and depend on that strength.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10. (NKJV)
Heavenly Father. Today, I draw upon your matchless strength. I thank you that you are the one who fortifies me and that I am built up because of your strength that lies within me. Help me to realize that it is your protection that is my refuge, that you are near, only a prayer away and that all I need to do is place my confidence in you. Amen and Amen.

I Can Because I Know
Written by Carmela E. Head
There are just some things you must know. Looking back over my algebra and geometry years in school I remember there was a thin line between getting answers correct or incorrect. It was all based on formulas that had to be completed with the right numbers and the in right sequence. One incorrect number or process out of sync could make a huge difference in the outcome. Perimeters and circumference! Oh my goodness, how I had to learn and even memorize these formulas. It is the following of the formulas that produce accuracy. II could answer the questions and complete the mathematical process because I knew the formulas. That alone was reassuring. Again, I could because I knew.
Today, I can use that same concept in a spiritual context. An assurance and confidence can arise within me because I have the promises of God that are accurate and sure. Philippians 4:13 (KJV) says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” This verse pushes me to realize that when applied to my life accordingly, the outcome will be accuracy and fruit. There is a deep confidence in knowing that I can (do what God has purposed in my heart to do) because I know what the Word of God says. His promises are sure.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and He delights in the way. Psalms 37: 23 (KJV)
Heavenly Father, I am thankful today that your word is sure and true. I will take hold of your word and walk in full assurance applying it to areas of my life to fulfill your purpose. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Thank you Lord for your confidence. Amen and Amen.
